Ceiling Height

Varies from approximately 6m to 7m due to the roof pitch.
The overhead softbox is approximately 5.5m above the floor.

Blackout

The blacked-out ceiling and motorised blinds block nearly all external light. Minor light may be visible around the edges of the entrance door — this does not normally affect the main shooting area.

Audio Recording

VSPN Studio is not a soundstage and is not fully soundproof, though it remains fairly quiet most of the time. Potential low-level noise sources:
Rain, heavy wind or sometimes birds on the roof
Activity from the upstairs studio
The building is often quieter after 5:00pm. Critical dialogue, sync sound, interviews, livestreams or other sound-sensitive productions must be discussed before booking — a quiet-environment fee may apply.

Minimum Booking

A minimum half-day or full-day booking applies.

Floor Protection

Protective floor coverings and the supplied access procedure must be followed.

Vehicle Height

Vehicles up to approximately 3m high may be suitable, subject to prior approval.

Before Confirmation

Vehicle dimensions and details must be submitted before booking confirmation.

Within Booked Time

All load-in, setup, shooting, pack-down and cleaning must be completed within the booked period. Allow at least 20 minutes at the end of the booking for pack-down.

Additional Time

Contact VSPN as early as possible if additional time is required. Approved additional time is charged at $125 per hour.

Late Departure

A $100 late-departure fee may apply to an unapproved overrun.

Insurance

The hirer must hold public liability insurance as required under the Hire Agreement.

Exit Cleaning & Reset

The studio must be returned to its original condition — a specific exit checklist will be posted near the entrance. Additional cleaning, waste removal, repairs, repainting or reinstatement may be charged when the studio is not properly reset.

CCTV

CCTV operates in common areas for security, safety and booking-time verification.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited inside the studio.

Minors

Minors must remain under the supervision of a parent or responsible guardian.

Pets & Animals

Animals required for a production must be approved in advance. The owner or handler is responsible for supervision, safety, damage and cleaning.

On the Cyc

Do not step on the curved edge section
Do not eat or drink on the cyclorama
Do not drag equipment
Do not lean equipment, props or people against the cyclorama wall

Tape

Do not use tape on the cyclorama wall
Only approved low-tack masking tape may be used on the cyclorama floor for talent marks

Special Materials

Paint, powder, liquids, glitter, confetti, chemicals or other special materials require advance approval.

Damage

Heavy marks, stains or damage may result in:

Repair or full reinstatement costs, where applicable

Smoke Machine

Smoke-machine use is permitted and is best scheduled toward the end of the shoot.
